Mexico has a particularly large variety of specialized issues, owing to the fact that Mexico had approximately 50 commercial banks that printed their own banknotes. Some of the more prolific of these commercial banks were Durango, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosi, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Yucatan, and Zacatecas. Many of the notes from the commercial banks have outstanding designs and colors. Most of the notes from the Revolutionary Era (1910-17) that were issued by state, regional, and military authorities, are not nearly so colorful.

The PMG population report shows that a high percentage of the upper grades are proof and specimen examples. Some issues have large number of remainder (unissued) notes remaining.

Below you will find pictures of some of the Mexico banknotes in the collection, as well as a partial list of the items available for sale or trade. Pictures can be mailed upon request. Many other items are available for sale or trade, so please ask if you have specific wants. All items listed are subject to prior sale.
